07/03/24, 12:00

Last week, Car Hill High School had the honor of hosting one of the UK's rising pop stars, Molly Warburton, for a special performance and discussion with our Year 7 and Year 8 students. This event was aimed to inspire, entertain, and educate our students on important topics, particularly focusing on mental health, british values and wellbeing.

Molly Warburton kicked off the event with a captivating acoustic performance, showcasing her original songs alongside a few covers, including a rendition of Miley Cyrus's "Flowers." Her melodic tunes, accompanied by her trusty guitar, set the stage for an engaging and memorable experience.

Following her performance, Molly shared her insights on mental health, wellbeing, respect, and stress management, drawing from her own experiences as a musician and young adult. She opened up about her journey of learning to play the guitar during her teenage years and shared her early musical influences, including Fleetwood Mac, KT Tunstall, and Taylor Swift.

Engaging with the students, Molly encouraged them to share their hobbies, interests, and reflections on British Values. One standout student, Kate from Year 8, impressed Molly with her knowledge of British Values, earning herself a special prize for her participation.

Closing the event, a teacher expressed his gratitude to Molly for her inspiring performance and emphasized the importance of maintaining a positive mindset, even in the face of challenges. He shared how Molly's message of resilience and respect had personally motivated him, and he hoped it would resonate with the students as well.
