Music is the connective language that travels the globe, transcending conflict and bridging generations. In 2022, a new global group was formed: as1one. However, this is no typical male pop group…as1one is the first mixed Israeli, Jewish & Palestinian Arab pop group. This is a first opportunity for a cutting-edge male pop group from the Middle East region to be launched and boldly compete on the world stage.
As1one's journey has been filmed since its inception for the development of a limited docuseries for Paramount+. as1one: The Israeli-Palestinian Pop Music Journey which premiered worldwide on the streamer in December 24 to positive reception. It’s a coming-of-age story, featuring six young men who band together with the opportunity to be come a celebrated inspiration of collaboration, friendship and acceptance, through trailblazing pop hits. Cameras followed as1one’s personal struggles and artistic journey – with families, friends and the war in both the Jewish and Arab communities - as the band work together to bring their music and message of unity to the world. While deep seeded division has affected their communities for generations, as1one haven’t let anything obstruct the brotherhood they have built. Through the collective power of pop music, the group is overcoming barriers, perhaps for the first time, and will potentially inspire new generations to do the same, a sentiment more important now than ever before.
